Commercial Roofing and Sheet Metal Project Manager

Job Responsibilities:

Position Summary:

The Project Manager supports all construction activities: preconstruction, in–progress, post construction. The ideal candidate will work to oversee the client relationship throughout the project to ensure satisfaction while also managing the day-to-day activities in the field. Each project will require the Project Manager to successfully manage the team, schedule, meetings (both in the field and in the office) and ensure high quality results. Safety is of the utmost importance, so the Project Manager will also need to work closely with the safety team to understand and enforce all safety requirements.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and lead handoff and kickoff meetings
  • Initiate and maintain contact with client
  • Follow up on submittal approval with Submittal Coordinator
  • Review material and purchase / buyout with the Field Supervisor; coordinate delivery with warehouse and purchasing managers
  • Review and define subcontractor scope of work
  • Attend on-site construction meetings
  • Prepare change orders
  • Monitor job costs
  • Ensure Field Supervisor prepares daily reports for each project and has all tools, supplies, and/or materials that are needed for the next working day
  • Follow up with final billing on payment and closeouts
  • Confirm all receivables have been collected
  • Oversee timely project inspections and project closeouts

 


Job Qualifications:

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of Roofing industry experience with a heavy emphasis in Commercial Roofing as well as Sheet Metal
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience managing, mentoring and training crews
  • Proficient in performing take roof measurements, reading architectural drawings, interpreting construction schedules and bid data, and entering information into estimating and project management programs
  • Possess OSHA 30 Hour Card OR be willing to take online course within first 30 days of employment to receive certification
  • Safety conscious and willing to adhere/support others on company safety policies and procedures
  • Capable of comprehending, explaining, and presenting roofing system solutions to customers
  • Basic computer and technical skills and ability to learn and administer functions in TimberLine, MasterKey and About Time software systems
  • Physical demands include climbing ladders, access roofs, walking, sitting, bending, lifting, and kneeling as needed to complete essential job functions
