Job Responsibilities:

Job Summary:

The CNC Programmer/Operator will maintain, setup, and operate various machines and equipment to produce top quality fabrications from metal materials, as well as be required to perform other duties as assigned within the construct of a sheet metal fabrication shop. The ideal candidate must have no less than one year’s experience working in a fabrication and production environment; related fabrication industries include millwork, composite and fiber cement wall panels, and glass and glazing fabrication. Said candidates must be energetic, self-motivated, work well in a team environment, identifies, and resolves problems in a timely manner and develops alternative solutions. Good computer skills, a mechanical aptitude, and basic math skills are required.

Job Responsibilities

  • Material management, inventory control, and re-stock reporting.
  • Work planning and team assignments. Ensure quality meets established standards.
  • Daily job reporting.
  • Knowledgeable in 5S practices.
  • Read and interpret shop work orders and drawings.
  • Write advanced sheet metal folding programs on various machinery.
  • Perform or oversee routine preventive maintenance on all shop machinery.
  • Verifies and participates in crates being properly built and that finished products are safely packaged.
  • Demonstrate and require safe and responsible material handling.
  • Ensure manufactured product quality meets established standards. Identify various types of materials and thicknesses.
  • Complete all required paperwork (fabrication and inventory sign-off, and other as required)
  • Communicate effectively with all team members. Educate the team to identify and produce quality products and components.
  • Perform sheet metal fabrications and assemblies.
  • Follow all quality standards, processes, and procedures and ensure the team does the same.
  • Perform all assigned tasks in an accurate, focused, and timely manner. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel and Outlook Train production staff.
  • Follow company safety standards.

  Required

Minimum 2 years experience operating CNC machinery and writing basic programs operations
High School Diploma or equivalency 
Self-starter (Doer’s Mindset).
Read a tape measure down to the 1/16” accurately.
Must be able to use hand tools such as a screw gun, caulk gun, protractor, snips, etc. 
Must be able to work with air nail guns and air staplers, and various types of powered saws (chop saw, circular saw, band saw, table saw, and reciprocating saw)
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. The lifting of 50 lbs., bending over, kneeling, and other physical activities are required for this position.  
Must be willing to work in multiple areas of the Production division.
Be available to work additional hours above and beyond a typical 40-hour work week to complete our schedule needs. Overtime and weekend work are at times required.

Preferred
Graduate of a Trade School Program
Experience in AutoCAD
Forklift Certification
OSHA 30

Schedule: 8-hour shift, Monday to Friday
Ability to commute/relocate: Must be able to reliably commute or relocate to Pittsburgh, PA 15205
